Detailed Features

LIBMAN is a Windows based software, which is fully integrated with barcodes. The Issue and Return, the Dynamic Location Tagging and Stock Verification is also done with the help of barcodes. This provides the Librarian with an easy, accurate and a quick method of having complete command over the library.
The Client- Server based system allows protection of database .
LIBMAN has a Single Screen Concept i.e. using a single screen the librarian can add, verify, delete and modify the record of any of the constituents. Even printing of the Catalogue Cards, printing of bar-coded labels and Membership Cards is done from the same screen. The makes it extremely user friendly and the speed of operation becomes very fast.
LIBMAN is a Comprehensive Library Manager as it incorporates all aspects of a library namely – Maintenance of Master Databases- members, vendors, books, journals, magazines, video cassettes, audio cassettes, departments, etc- Book at acceptance stage- for acquisition, approval, rejected books with reasons, books for binding, Accessioning – auto accessioning and manual accessioning- Barcode sticker generation on-line ( from same screen), Barcoded Membership Card generation (self designed), Cataloguing (standard 3x5 catalogue card generated), Circulation -Issue, Return, Reservation, Renewal, Fine Calculation, etc- Bill Processing, Budget allocation, Reporting- standard, dynamic ( user defined), Correct Shelving and Stock Taking- using portable Data Capturing Unit- percentage scanned, efficiency of scanning , last scanned on, value of books in the library, missing books, etc . It also has a very powerful OPAC – Open Public Access Catalogue with features like Search, Advance Search and Power Search, string search, part name search, boolean search to locate books based on Title, Author, Subject, Publisher, Keyword, etc.
LIBMAN generates reminders on Fine due for a member, over-due books reminder, membership expiry reminder, late/missed serial/magazine delivery reminder etc.
LIBMAN ensures book security by generating a Gate – Pass to be checked by the guard. For this an EAS system ( Electronic Article Survillance) anti-theft system can be used which is also provided by us.
LIBMAN can generate more than 500 user defined reports. The user is free to format the report and generate reports as per his need.
Bulletin Board feature allows librarian to post notices date wise on the screen, which is accessible to the members on opening the OPAC screen. The notices are printable.
The Daily Cardex System displays the list of serials/magazines to arrive on a particular day.
The system prompts the librarian about the expired memberships/ magazine subscriptions. A complete listing of such members/magazines is made available.
LIBMAN takes minimum time to automate the library and provides complete control to the librarian. LIBMAN follows a very simple and practical logic in Library Automation by which the speed at which the system gets implemented is extremely fast.
The Multi-user feature allows members ‘ within the building ‘ to access the book data from the LIBMAN software from their rooms at any given time (provided all terminals are in LAN). They can print out a request form in their rooms and send it across to the librarian for issue.
WEB enabled OPAC feature can be used by members to find availability of books in the library sitting at ‘out-of-library- location’.
LIBMAN has been created by a group of professionals dedicated to ensuring user satisfaction. All out efforts are put in to ensure Proper Training, Customization of the software to accommodate local needs, Hand-holding during implementation and back-up support.
The backend is available in MS – ACCESS/SQL/ORACLE.
